Let's Talk

About Rad Animal

Nineteen years of creative & technical work.

Jake Goble is a creative technologist and the founder of Rad Animal, based in Venice, California. Since 2007 he has worked with more than 80 brands, artists and businesses as a designer, developer, producer, director, videographer, and musician. Today, his work focuses at the intersection of music, art, and technology: websites, dashboards, apps, brand identities, live experiences, content, and AI systems that connect and keep it all running.

2007

Punk shows to pixels

In the early years the passion for creating started in backyards, at punk shows where the crowd was half the band. By 2007 Jake was studying Graphic Communication at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, minoring in music and sound design, and taking on his first freelance design clients between classes. Eye and ear, learning the same lessons at the same time. They've traveled together ever since.

2011

Collective Effort

In 2011 Jake joined Collective Effort Events in San Luis Obispo as marketing and production manager, running a street team and a design crew of 10 to 16 people every quarter. He negotiated advertising with local businesses, handled ticket sales, ran the social media campaigns, created the collateral and wrote for the blog, working with artists including Tiësto, Skrillex, Incubus, Damian Marley and GRiZ.

2013

Upper Playground and MerchCamp

Upper Playground was a crash course in how art could be transformed into merchandise and marketed online. As production manager from 2013 to 2016, Jake prepped artwork for print and screen, launched the company's newsletters and built online shops for its sub-brands. At MerchCamp he took it to clients, matching each one with the right way to produce their merch and the storefront to sell it.

2016

Winston House

In 2016 Jake walked into Winston House in Venice Beach as a guest. He stayed as a PA, then picked up a camera. As a videographer and producer on its concert series, he was one of an 11-person crew catching intimate sets in a living room small enough to feel every note. Over the years the house welcomed Billie Eilish, Justin Bieber, Ed Sheeran, Hozier, Chappell Roan and Janelle Monáe, earning partnerships and coverage by Billboard, Forbes and American Idol.

Rad Animal and 2332 Collective

In April 2017 Jake started Rad Animal, and that same year took over creative direction and production for 2332 Collective. With Winston House they threw three years of the Venice Block Party and SamJam Music Festival, a street party off Abbot Kinney that outgrew itself into Oakwood Park and then Westminster Elementary, with Capital Cities, Young the Giant and Phantogram on the bill and money raised for St. Joseph Center, Inner City Arts and Peace4kids. Rad Animal ran the web, the media, the production, the ticketing and the sponsors.

Rad Animal also brought its own nights to BudmanStudio, a 4,000 square foot gallery and artist studio space off Abbot Kinney. Across five events, bands and DJs played between the paintings, live painters worked through the sets, and local artists and startups opened their studios for VR demos, photo booths and guided meditations.

And for several years running, the studio headed to Austin for SXSW, shooting artists on stage and off.

Campaigns, videos and sound

The studio moved into brand campaigns. For Sony's WH-1000XM3 headphones, Jake co-produced Flow State with Art of Visuals, handled creator casting and wrote the original music. For Adorama's launch of Adorama Music he was director of photography, co-producer and composer on The Journey, part of the #CreateNoMatterWhat campaign that made the Shorty Awards finals.

He directed music videos for Daktyl and Chase McBride, was US director on Echo for Armaan Malik and Eric Nam with KSHMR, produced for Portair and Grey, edited Samsung's Galaxy Buds2 Pro piece with Ava Max, produced and edited Warner Music Experience's Connects, and designed for Mailchimp and Grizfolk. From 2020 he was also executive producer at PURPLEGANG, making custom music and sound design for film, commercials and digital media.

2021

Music, art and the blockchain

2021 pulled Jake into Web3. He co-founded Allauras, an artist project for digital artists making work with a purpose, then joined OneOf (now Superlogic), the music NFT platform founded by Quincy Jones and Lin Dai. As senior UI/UX designer he spent three years shaping the screens behind its loyalty programs, marketplaces and digital product passports. At Art Basel week in Miami he was behind the pitch decks, flyers and event sites for nights with Pitbull and Rae Sremmurd, covered by Billboard, Rolling Stone and Variety.

2022

From Enjune to Jakke

Jake launched his first artist project, Enjune, in 2018, and its songs found their way onto Spotify's Chill Tracks and Apple Music's New in Dance and Alternative playlists. In 2022 the music took a bigger leap as Jakke: emotionally charged alt-dance about love, presence and the noise we carry, made with collaborators like Jako Diaz, Nuage and matty co. and played live at Sony's 360 Reality Audio events, including its largest immersive installation yet at EastWest Studios in Hollywood. The Feel Something and All Ways, Always EPs followed in 2025, and the ambient project iLÜ in 2026.

2024

Identity to interface

From 2024 into 2025, Jake led creative direction and UI/UX for 9 Fold, Tracer Labs and an assortment of e-commerce brands, carrying each one from its first identity sketches all the way into the sites, apps and storefronts its customers use every day.

2026

Dream it // Build it

Nineteen years of making things led here: building the systems underneath them. Jake co-founded The Creative Hotline with creative director Megha Kraft and built its engine, from paid booking to a custom AI-assisted action plan. He built the operations system behind Stone House, the 1857 venue in Nevada City, took on creative direction and technology at Madrone Studios, and pushed Rad Animal's web practice past 30 sites, alongside an AI practice building dashboards, CRMs and automations.
